2019 Annual Meeting

Every other year the TCWS conducts a 2 day symposium for members to share research, review status and trends from the annual coastal colony census, and discuss ways to advance waterbird conservation in Texas. 

The 2019 meeting will be held near Austin, TX from November 19-20 at LCRA McKinney Rough Nature Park. The symposium will include updates from partners across the coast, the Society business meeting, research presentations, and a poster session.

 

This year we are asking for a $30 registration fee to help cover costs. There will also be a banquet on the evening of November 19th for an additional $20 fee.

 

The draft schedule for the event is as follows:

Tuesday, November 19

8:00 – 10:00 a.m.           Board meeting (all are welcome to attend; agenda to follow)
10:00 – 10:30 a.m.         Coffee break
10:30 – 12:00 p.m.         2019 TCWS Survey results by region
12:00 – 1:00 p.m.           Lunch (on site)
1:00 – 2:40 p.m.             Presentations
2:40 – 3:00 p.m.             Snack break
3:00 – 5:00 p.m.             Presentations, conclusion of conference

6:00 – 9:00 p.m.            Conference banquet/dinner (location TBD, $20/person)

Wednesday, November 20

8:00 – 10:00 a.m.           Presentations
10:00 – 10:20 a.m.         Coffee break
10:20 - 12:00 p.m.          Lunch (on site)
1:00 – 2:40 p.m.             Presentations
2:40 – 3:00 p.m.             Snack break
3:00 – 5:00 p.m.             Presentations, conclusion of conference

Registration for the event will be $30, and the banquet dinner is additional $20. Guests may attend the banquet at the $20 rate.
